Be a Neighbours Keeper

Do you like the motivation behind Fusion Hub?

If you would like to get more involved then we’d love you to help us in organising the events and activities and growing our community.

Fusion Hub works on a “bring and share” principle:

“It is better to give than to receive”. This is true because if we all give what we can we will all receive what we need. Fusion Hub is a ‘not for profit organisation’ and it is not a charity. It is a cooperative, “working or acting together willingly for a common purpose or benefit”.

How can I become a Neighbours Keeper?

A ‘Neighbours Keeper’ is anyone committed to actively participate in our concerted effort to build relationships and make a difference in their neighbourhood. I am sure you are already doing things in your neighbourhood we all need to learn from and we will love to hear about it.

There is no registration required just participation and communication, the building blocks for relationships. Just get in touch by email or come along to one of our events and have a chat about what you would like to do.

What can I possibly do?

You can do anything from having a willingness to participate in the activities during the events to actually doing what you’re good at to get others involved.

Bring and share ideas, talents, skills, friendships, experience and anything that promotes community values. Do you get the picture?

If you’re still thinking what you can offer can’t amount to much, picture this bible story:

When Jesus looked out and saw that a large crowd had arrived, he said to Philip, “Where can we buy bread to feed these people?” He said this to stretch Philip’s faith. He already knew what he was going to do. Philip answered, “Two hundred silver pieces wouldn’t be enough to buy bread for each person to get a piece.” One of the disciples—it was Andrew, brother to Simon Peter—said, “There’s a little boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish. But that’s a drop in the bucket for a crowd like this.”

Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” There was a nice carpet of green grass in this place. They sat down, about five thousand of them. Then Jesus took the bread and, having given thanks, gave it to those who were seated. He did the same with the fish. All ate as much as they wanted.

When the people had eaten their fill, he said to his disciples, “Gather the leftovers so nothing is wasted.” They went to work and filled twelve large baskets with leftovers from the five barley loaves.
